If you have a new mom, or mom-to-be in your life that you are looking to DIY the perfect gift for, let me help. I want to help you sift through all the unnecessary DIY baby gifts out there, and help you find a gift idea that will actually be loved and used.
1. Burp Cloths
A new mom can never have too many burp clothes. Check out this simple (and inexpensive!) tutorial on making cute, light-weight burp clothes.

2. Swaddle Blankets
Good quality swaddling blankets can cost a small fortune… when you don’t make them yourself. New moms always have a swaddling blanket on hand, whether to wrap that baby up, or use as a nursing cover, these are an absolute MUST.

3. Bibs
Babies are super messy. Like really, really messy. My oldest was spitting up constantly and therefore, always wearing a bib. It drove me crazy, but it beat having to change his clothes 15 times a day. I was grateful to have a huge stash of bibs on hand to keep up with his habit.

4. Blankets
Different than a swaddling blanket, a baby could use lots of cute little blankets. Just like all other baby items, they get all sorts of bodily fluids on them and need to be washed often. Having a hardy stash around makes mom’s life a little easier.

5. Pacifier Leash
Because new babies don’t come especially coordinated, they are always spitting out their dang binkies. Although some exposure to germs can be good for a baby, sucking a pacifier straight off the Target floor is probably taking it too far. Any new mom will appreciate having a few of these on hand.
